BASIL POLEDOURIS - ROBOCOP SOUNDTRACK (1987)

Another classic score from Mr. Poledouris, of Conan The Barbarian fame. This one is far too epic for the film, triumphant and over-the-top in true Poledourian form. What's nice is the little tidbits of electronic buzzing and weirdness that creep into the orchestral bombast here and there, a slight departure from his earlier work. This is a great soundtrack, one that would be more suited for a sweeping epic like Schindler's List than Robocop. But somehow it all works, like the prom queen taking the science nerd to the big dance at the end of an 80's comedy.
Wow. That was a really awkward metaphor.
Enjoy!
