Here's a killer 5-way split from Shifty Records, circa 2002, featuring the completely unknown Midwest Sludge bands Fistula, Goatsblood, Sloth, Molehill, and Mugwart. Actually, this disc is far beyond Sludge, something further down the evolutionary scale. Let's call it "Slime".Brutal, slow, over-distorted, and stupid (in a really GOOD way), this is truly a great piece of outsider art, a bludgeoning, wicked chunk of basement Metallization, something too crazy to be bad. As a side note, the most upbeat band on this compilation is Sloth, ironically. Go figure.
