Way, way, way back, in the very first week of Illogical Contraption's existence, I posted UK-based Budgie's hard rock masterpiece, Squawk. Well, that was their second release, so I think it's only fair that I go ahead and post their first one, a magical little self-titled affair released in 1971.
Long story short, Budgie fucking rules. They're heavy, catchy, and groovy (in a good way), the sort of shit that makes your ass shake without you really realizing it. They're like some really stony Creeper weed. By the time you figure out what's happening, it's already too late. Budgie just kicked your ass, brah.
PS: Shame on Metallica for covering "Crash Course In Brain Surgery". They had no right.
