Though they were one of the best and most influential bands born from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement in the late 70's and early 80's, Diamond Head never received the mainstream success they deserved. While Iron Maiden and Judas Priest became international superstars, The 'Head floundered at the starting gate, despite writing some of the best goddamn Metal of their day. Maybe it was the crappy album cover (above). Maybe it was the tightness of their pants (below). Whatever it was, it just wasn't fucking fair. Diamond Head kicked some major ass, but like their fellow British bangers, Budgie, they will be largely remembered as "that band Metallica covered on Garage Days".
Please, won't you do your part to make sure Diamond Head is remembered with the respect and admiration they deserve? Download Lightning To The Nations today. (This message brought to you by The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.)
Below: No caption I could ever write would do justice to this band photo.
