BOBCAT GOLDTHWAIT - MEAT BOB (1988)

If you're the type of person who can't appreciate the refined comedy stylings of Mr. Bobcat Goldthwait, then I presume it's safe to guess that you're also the type of person who frowns upon such institutions as Police Academy, Ski School, and Shakes The Clown. No hard feelings, but now would probably be a good time for you to leave, sir.
Go ahead, we'll wait....

Now that all the button-down turdbags are gone, let's enjoy some REAL comedy, the kind that involves farts, drugs, and lots of naughty words. Robert Francis "Bobcat" Goldthwait, best known as Fred in Hot To Trot, Zed in the aforementioned Police Academy, and "Adrenal Gland" in 1989's Cranium Command, has had a long and illustrious career as not only an actor but a writer, director, and, of course, standup comedian. Today, as a brief respite from IllCon's musical endeavors, we enjoy his 1988 concert album Meat Bob, which, unless you are a total and complete douche, will have you ROFL-ing for hours on end. I mentioned back here that I've been enjoying some comedy to break up the endless hours of metal lately, and Meat Bob stands out as an underappreciated classic in the genre.

GOLD.

PS: I've been enjoying those posts lately where Seanford posts something REEAAAALLLYY metal and then something REEEAAAALLLYYY not metal (and vice versa), let's do that today as well...

1999. Pre-Decrepit Birth. Need I say more?

I saw Bobcat a few months ago doing standup and it was very funny, but not as funny as either of the two movies he's directed recently - Sleeping Dogs Lie and World's Greatest Dad. Truly twisted, sick black comedies, the both of them.

Ya' I heard his new movies are good, have not seen the 2 mentioned above. I guess he's also doing a musical based on a Kinks record.

I'm reasonably stoked. To be honest, I enjoy the unrelenting pummel of their first album a bit more than the confused Cynic-worship on their second.

that comment was supposed to be about Decrepit Birth, not Rodney Dangerfield
