Suspiriorum Eternus!

I have a huge horror boner at the moment over something that came to my attention recently at the supremely cool Swedish blog Cinezilla. Apparently Goblin have reformed again this year to play some live shows (they've been reuniting on and off, in various lineups, since scoring Argento's Non Ho Sonno in 2000).

But the thing that's blowing my mind this time is that as well as original members Massimo Morante and Maurizio Guarini... Claudio fuckin' Simonetti is back on board too. According to Cinezilla, Paura Productions is
putting together a US tour, presumably after they play the Unsound Festival in Krakow in late October. I'm so envious of you guys, cuz there's about as much chance of them coming to Australia as there is of Argento making another good movie. Not likely.

Check out this mind-meltingly cool vid of the boys playing "Profondo Rosso" (Deep Red), recorded in Rome just a couple of months ago. Turn it up loud. IT IS FUCKING RAD.

Now, let us consecrate this black ceremony with malefic witchery and sacrificial blood.
Here's a little visual tribute to the most beautiful horror film ever made, followed by a link to its soundtrack (which just happens to be the greatest horror score ever recorded)...

Funny, I've been listening to TONS of Goblin for the last week or so...
In fact, we just got a new phone system at my job, a phone system which allows you to customize the music that plays when you put people on 'hold'. I constructed a 'best of Goblin' playlist that plays at random when I put you on hold, my reasoning being that Goblin is kind of like the coolest elevator music ever. Killer fucking evil jams that won't get me in trouble when my boss calls.

Ya know, it was you that turned me onto their "Roller" LP here at IllCon. Didn't even know it existed!
