SATURDAY MORNING DOUBLE FEATURE - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Above: Typical Birthday Party chaos, July 1982.

Anyone ever heard of Nick Cave? Good.
The Birthday Party was Nick's post-punk art-rock band, originally known as the Boys Next Door, who were active from the late 70's to the early/mid 80's. Although their unique and strange sound has been cited by many a goth and deathrock band as influential, their pioneering freakouts transcend label or genre. Hee Haw was an early EP, released in 1979, that was re-released in 1988 with extra tracks from their late 70's period. Junkyard was their 1982 full-length that contained some of their finest work. I suggest you check 'em both out.
