PLEASEEASAUR - AS SEEN ON TV (2002)

Pleaseeasaur is the brainchild of Mr. J.P. Hassan, a brilliant composer and performance artist from the Seattle area. Although the CD stands on its own, you really need to see Pleaseeasaur live to understand just what a strange and hilarious head trip this guy is on. Part lounge act, part karaoke performance, and part low-budget special effects extravaganza, Pleaseeasaur performances have literally brought me to TEARS (via laughter) every time I've seen one. Songs like the motivational "You've Got The Tough" ("You've got the tough / you've got that pro attitude / you don't think you've got what it takes / but you're wrong, cuz you're rad, yes, YOU'RE COOL!") and the epic "Beef Flavored Island" withstand the test of time, sticking in your brain long after the disc stops spinning.

Pleaseeasaur received support from Comedy Central (who released their compilation DVD) a few years back, although vague plans for a TV show never came to fruition. Which sucks. Because it would have been rad. But they still tour quite a bit, and I urge anyone with a sense of humor and a love for good music to check them out.
Pleaseeasaur ended up stranded at my house a few years back when their van broke down in Eureka. J.P. and the gang are some really stellar dudes, dudes on a unique trip with a burning hatred for dog shit. Which we can all relate to.

Video for "Randy Normal Jeans" - not his best song, but worth watching for the absurdist easy-listening/Tim and Eric appeal and the classic line "You've got a friend in jeans.":

I shot a video of this guy when he opened up for Amps for Christ at the PCH(R.I.P.) in Wilmington,CA 9 or 10 years ago. Just him his fuzzy suit, and a cheezy strobe like lightshow. God that was hilarious. I still have it on a VHSc tape. wish I could put it on DVD, I just don't have the equipment handy.

at least I think it was the same thing.........unless there are 2 of these yahoos loose........
