This is one of the coolest articles I have seen on here in a while, although admittedly I am zooted right now. Seriously, though, Steampunk is okay, but it seems like the term is just getting thrown around randomly, with great profligacy. It's like, zombies, ninjas, robots and pirates are all pretty cool things, but they have all been run into the ground as "cool things" for the last 8 years or so. Also, man, those Juggalos is killin me.
That's just the tip of the iceberg, as far as depressing Juggalo imagery on the internet is concerned. This is by far the WORST thing I've ever witnessed, although I wouldn't recommend watching it while you're "zooted". It's THAT fucked up.
I'm not 20, I'm out of touch with hot trends in urban America, and I live overseas. What exactly am I looking at here? Insane Clown Posse meets League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? I know that we Americans have been massively dumbed down as a whole, but W.T.F. ?
Your guess is as good as mine, Steven. All I know is that a new "steampunk" store, called Five and Diamond, just opened in San Francisco, that sells steampunk clothing and accessories for ridiculously high prices. End times are upon us.
Dressing up in public as anything but yourself is just stupid. I used to get dragged by my ex-wife to Whitby Goth festival AND I worked in a comic book shop for 3 years so, trust me, I've seen shit that would turn you WHITE. No. No. No. No. NO.
I'm a Juggalo, stoner, high school graduate, whatever. What I've been noticing is that people are at odds with their identity and we all feel a need to belong. Nobody is a special snowflake and we all dress like our friends, steampunk is no different and it's not the "new Juggalo" however the style is appealing and I can for sure see Juggalos finding it appealing as well. I think there were some steampunk style elements in the movie big money Rustlas. Anyway, this is a great artical, great pictures. But bottom line is that we are human beings and like to belong with certain groups that make us happy. Same as everyone [:

At first glance, I thought they were mutually exclusive, but after this I have a feeling steampunk is just juggaloism for people who went to college.
jugallos, steampunks and flashmobs = all one step away from being a furry.
But: if this hypothesis is indeed true, who is the ICP of steampunk? Who can be blame?
The ICP of steampunk is without a doubt Abney Park.
Charles - You mean to tell me steampunk has been around longer than homosexuality? I dunno, man...
Regis/Rune - Yep. Abney Park. Wow.
