MX (which stands for Madre Xama), are (or were) a killer thrash band from Brazil. Their Encyclopedia Metallum page says they are still active, but their last album was released 9 years ago. "Simoniacal" is their debut full-length, a rippin' slab of grinding metal with a front cover cool enough to give a polar bear the shivers. You've gotta give this disc a couple minutes to warm up, because about halfway through the guitar work starts getting really frantic and dissonant, as if these guys were doing some really weird drugs in the studio and it took a little while for them to kick in. SHRED SHRED SHRED!!!
