In honor of their utterly face-melting performance at Annie's Social Club here in SF last night, here's Seattle two-piece Iron Lung's 38(!) song CD "Life. Iron Lung. Death". Sounding a lot like fellow grinders
Discordance Axis (both bands play insanely speedy, chaotic math/thrash and lack bass players), Iron Lung completely blew my mind last night, just like they did 8 years ago at The Vista in Eureka.

The highlight of Iron Lung's set (for me, at least) was watching their drummer, Jensen (one HELL of a nice guy) absolutely annihilate his set. Maybe it was the tequila, but his hands and sticks were a blurry vortex of baffling speed and intricacy, securing him a spot on my personal list of Best Live Drummers Ever. Oh, and did I mention he's the LEAD SINGER, too?
Luckily, about halfway through the set, the guitarist broke a string, giving Jensen a chance to showcase his stand-up comedy skills. He tore up my roommate (and drummer) Chuffy real good (in a totally 'Bro' way), adding an unexpected dimension, COMEDY, to an already killer fucking set. Well done, Iron Lung. Well done.
