SATURDAY MORNING DOUBLE FEATURE: "HOOKED" ON CORY'S DAD

HAPPY CORPORATION-FUNDED PROCREATION HOLIDAY, EVERYONE!

In the spirit of free love, here's two awesome, happy, psychedelic rock albums from obscure psuedo-proggy funkateers The Hook. The Hook were fronted by Buddy Sklar (who also played bass), father of one Cory Sklar, SF local and awesome vocalist for the amazing Rock juggernaut known as Dalton. Perhaps you know Cory from his blog, Cory Is A Feeling, or from his work under the alias Chaki with The Mystic Defender. Or maybe you just know him as that guy at the end of the bar at The Bigfoot Lounge, making an ass of himself four nights a week singing along really loudly to Harry Nilsson songs. Either way, Cory is a Bro and his dad's band KICKS ASS, full of late-60's sing-along lyrics, fuzzy guitar solos, and proto-funk grooves. Both albums were released in 1968 (I think), which is unbelievable considering the amount of memorable songs contained on each of them. Yes, sweet, sweet jams are a tradition in the Sklar family, so do yourself a favor and get a piece of The Hook, one of the great forgotten bands of yesteryear.
