SPLATTERHOUSE - THE HOUSE THAT DEAD BUILT (2004)

PORTLAND SPLATTERTHRASH, Part 2

There is probably no better band to encompass the 'PDX Splatterthrash' sound and aesthetic than Splatterhouse. They do it all--crazy grind, oom-pah oom-pah thrash, zany samples, almost Benton-esque vocals--and they do it WELL.
The first time I saw these guys live (I believe it was at Annie's in SF), their drummer was absolutely annihilating his kit. The rest of the band was of course killing it too, but this dude was fucking DIALED IN: snappy snare, double bass and all. He was also rocking a full-on gold teeth grill, long dreads, and, best of all, a tattoo prominently displayed accross his chest reading "DEATH TO FALSE METAL". I think that kind of sums it up.
