BEHEAD THE PROPHET (NO LORD SHALL LIVE) - I AM THAT GREAT AND FIERY FORCE (1996)

Cumbersomely named after a Deicide song, Behead The Prophet - No Lord Shall Live were part of a large, healthy queercore/occult/punk/grindcore scene that blossomed in and around Olympia, Washington in the early-to-mid 90's. Their music was the beautiful catastrophe that occurs whenever punks decide to play metal: Absolute fucking chaos, basically, with songs rarely surpassing the one minute mark (in fact, the longest song on this 22-song album clocks on at 1:30). And did I mention that they had a violin player who would improvise/shred over every song (Michael Griffen, who passed away last year - R.I.P.)?
This is a fucking sweet little record that everyone needs. The samples alone are worth the cover price. Don't believe me? Give it a listen and tell me I'm wrong.

B.T.P.N.L.S.L. live in Las Vegas. A shitty clip, but gives a good idea of how chaotic their sound was. Also featured: Joe Preston in a sparkly cape.

that was indeed quitty with hair. i am hip to tight bros, not so much to nudity. please post.

dave and the nude dudes rule hard. the nudity record is on vinyl only for the time being, but i'll see if i can work out a rip. it rules.

fuck yeah, i've been wondering if/when someone was going to post this.

joshua did a bunch of 'theme' shows with btpnlsl. for a while the theme was colors. the picture was taken from the white theme show, hence the hair and outfit. i remember that one theme was 'paper' and another time 'forest'.

they also put out three 7"'s as well, one of which is a split with the thrones. the one on sound pollution is their best material in my opinion.

to me, they were the most important band to ever come out of seattle/oly.

this is the worst case of hipster metal I bought it when it came out but it doesn't hold up.

I disagree. They might have short hair and tight pants, but this album is totally deserving of repeat listens. I hate hipsters as much as the next guy, but BHTNLSL has a cool gay/Satanic angle a la Mukilteo Fairies that puts them in a whole different category...
