MORGOTH - RESURRECTION ABSURD EP (1989)

Maybe you know Germany's Morgoth as That One DM Band That Went All Industrial/Alternative In The Mid-90's. But categorizing these former Tolkien nerds as MTV Techno Fodder is doing them a disservice, tantamount to throwing out the proverbial baby with the bathwater. Truth is, Morgoth kicked plenty of DM ass pre-1991, boasting a sound that encompassed quasi-Floridian Schuldiner screams, straightforward (but exceedingly crunchy) guitar riffs, and hyperactive, thrash-influenced drum work. Also, get a load of Weeping Gore-Dreads Guy. I LOVE THAT GUY!

Cursed is a great album. These guys were like the German Obituary, they should have been called "Nekrolog"
