Umm.. there's some creepy ass Calvin and Hobbes fan art out there.

No thanks to friend of the blog Grady for exposing me to this nightmare.

I don't see what's so creepy about it. Our society gives young men no outlet whatsoever to explore homosexual feelings and inclinations without being labeled "gay" (aka "bad/wrong/sick" etc.) and C&H seem to have a loving camaradie that resonates with young men experiencing the aforementioned situation. So what? It's a hell of a lot less creepy than say "Lolita". At least Hobbes isn't an OLD MAN trying schtup a GIRL. Most metal songs glorify the rape and murder of women, metal chicks are supposed to be big boobed idiots, and the only women accepted as metal musicians have to basically look like a hot dish, even if they sing like Diamanda Galas. Now THAT shit is CREEPY. But the "bromance" of Calvin and Hobbes eroticized? Nah. It's not like he's actually shaboinkin' the tiger, dude; he's shaboinkin' the TIGER DUDE.

Hey Anonymous:

"Most metal songs glorify the rape and murder of women"

Really? Cannibal Corpse and their ilk make up a tiny fraction of the metal bounds out there. I smell dworkinite hyperbole.

Funny you brought up Lolita instead of, say, a William Burroughs book where some old man tries to "schtup" a boy. But of course for you uber-pc types, anything goes for gays. You excuse pederasty by citing the example of the Ancient Greeks (never mind that you hate everything else about them and the Western culture they bequeathed us), but consider heterosexual males to be congenital rapists.

And Diamanda Galas was a tasty dish herself when she was younger, hepatitis notwithstanding.

that's "metal bands"

Uh....most "metal" bands do not do songs about women AT ALL!!! Sure, there's cock-rock, and a small sub-culture of porno-grind/slam bands do the misogyny thing, but it's a small minority. Plus no one can understand what the lyrics are anyway. Point invalid...and dumb.

I like that we completely bypassed the bestiality issue rushing to the homosexuality issue.

And for the record, wolfspider is right: most metal bands don't actually glorify the rape and murder of women.

ALL OF THEM DO>

Some of these are creepier than others. Fursuit = super creepy. Taking a photo together not as creepy.

For smart metal chick who shreds see Blackholicus. Manga/anime inspired adolescent artwork is seriously the worst. I'd rather be forced to watch a million two girls one cup than see more of that shit all over the internet.

I actually reaaaaly like the realistic portrait of the child and tiger hugging. Some nice detail to the artwork, not to mention the cheesiness.

Cobras, would you be my gay tiger?

I will pay $100 if the author of that first post reveals his or her identity.

I think the fourth one is an okay drawing - well the kid looks like an ass - and the third last one is okay, and the last one is ridiculous.

I like how Calvin and Hobbs fan art created this truly useless and uninspiring conversation via blogging. I don't what is more utterly retarded: your comments thus far or the blacked out drunk 19 year olds that live above me that are strumming their acoustic guitar and singing little mermaid songs.

Del Tigre = Hobbes. Now it makes sense. I always knew that sumbitch was a furry. Cornhole away my good man.
