Cephalotripsy are purveyors of the brutal new(ish) genre that the good folks over at Metal Inquisition have dubbed "Wigger Slam". Boiling down the epic riffage and crazy drumming of the Death Metal genre, Cephalotripsy plays a minimalistic style of grind, usually just the "mosh" parts of traditional DM, accented by lower-than-low guttural vocals and a super high-pitched snare drum. Their ham-fisted approach to Neanderthal Metal is actually refreshing in a way, making things so simplistic and so fucking BRUTAL that it borders on the ridiculous. Lyrics about gore, dismemberment, murder, and more gore are delivered in a style completely unique to this band, with the croaking Cookie Monster grunts occasionally rising or dropping an octave out of nowhere, giving the impression of, dare I say... Melody?
It's weird, weird stuff that really shouldn't work as well as it does, but Cephalotripsy have somehow forged a new sound out of a pile of Death Metal detritus, the audio equivalent of being bludgeoned to death with a large stone. I only recommended this album for the well-seasoned Metalhead. It's quite simply TOO MUCH for the casual listener. Brutal, brutal shit.

I figured this was way beyond my reach when i googled the cover of this album. I don't even want to check it out not even out of curiosity. It is just not in my league, not even in my reach.
