ILLOGICAL CONTRAPTION: NOW TAKING REQUESTS

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION TIME AGAIN.

I'd like to do an experiment. I'd like YOU, THE READER to tell me what YOU, THE READER would like ME to write about this week. I've always been good at following orders. Blindly, fervently, and with undying loyalty. So give me some orders. What do YOU, THE READER want to see here on IllCon? More conspiracies? Less? Noods? Angst poetry? Movie reviews? I'm not saying I'm going to take any suggestions to heart and of course I'm still going to post about whatever I want (as will the rest of the staff). But I'm giving YOU, THE READER the opportunity to make ME your puppet. Go ahead, put your hand inside me.

Don't worry, I'm not out of ideas or anything I'M OUT OF IDEAS.

Go ahead, what do YOU, THE READER want to see? I'll choose FIVE of the BEST suggestions from the Comments section (if I even get that many).

ILLCON IS YOURS

  1. Thanks for the offer! How about an essay on all the different ways to do a one-second grind song? Different aesthetics, different approaches, techniques, funny or dead-serious, '80s vs. '90s or 2000s, etc.

  2. hollow earth and the tibetian/third reich connection

  3. More crafts. Especially candle and soap making. Original crochet and knitting patterns are good too, but don't overdo it.

  4. Steve Ditko! Or you could do a mega-post with him, Ayn Rand and Rush... the objectivist triumvirate!

  5. 1) Aboriginal dream time and remote viewing.
    2) Innovative salad dressing recipes.
    3) Really bad piercings (shitty tattoos are a dime a dozen me thinks) ...who can ever forget chubby dude with angel wings on his back and oh man... and ....ughhh i can picture it again.....never mind.
    4) 2012 .......
..Not it that particular order or at the same time though, but if you could i'd be totally impressed.

also if you could write a paper, i mean a post, on methamphetamine abuse as a nursing priority in developing a protocol for the best practice and standard of care in 7 double spaced pages with APA format by next week that would be totally awesome...Just saying.

  6. How about a post on Clutch? It's all there: sci-fi, southern preacher swagger in spades (and since i mentioned it, how about a crossover with the comic book Preacher http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preacher_%28comics%29 , i'm sure you would enjoy reading it at least!) and blue collar ethos.

Oh and i really need to back the Ambassador's suggestion! Ditko and Rush? Almost brought a tear to my eye.

  11. I'm going to echo the Ditko/Rush/Rand suggestion as well; that ought to keep you off the streets for a few days.

Genesis P-orridge is a good one too - he was looking at the house next door to me last year and I got to shoot the shit with him for a bit. He and his late wife were in the process of surgically becoming twins when she passed and now he's possessed by her ghost and prefers to be addressed as "We." Unfortunately she discouraged him from buying the house because my neighborhood is too noisy. Go figure.

  18. An interesting post would be about future sports. That's sounds real exciting, right? No. But it's kinda interesting in one way: the science fiction movie way, that is. I can think of two such sports right away. The manhunt tv-show of "The Running Man" (sort of a sport anyway), and that goofy game the college kids are up to in "Starship Troopers". There must tons of these made up sports in science fiction flicks. List the best, or weirdest or something.
Or maybe you've already done a post about this, what do I know?
    Cheers!

  22. Or could you maybe tell the story about the time you were surfing, and a sea lion almost ate you? How big was his head? Oh wait...
