good idea introducing the metal to kids early before the god damn rap corrupts them, but the choice of songs is way off, shit might as well turn on the radio, im also left with this nasty feeling after watching this...

Well I have listened to Rap music since mid 90s yet I hasn't prevent me from getting into Heavy Metal which I consider the closest music to me. I don't think Heavy Metal needs vast masses of new listeners if it's just for the sake of making ourself feel better. "Our music is popular, it has value, we are worth something". If one yearns for what HM has to give he'll be drawn to it like a fly to a light bulb.

I lasted just over a minute. WHY would someone even DO that, let alone fucking FILM IT AND PUT IT ON THE INTERNET?!?!

Why do so many people think it's impossible to like both hip hop and heavy metal? How would these kids listening to rap be any worse than this? Do you listen to any music besides metal and anime soundtracks?

I didn't mean you, Cobras, I know you only listen to Bushwick Bill.

Bloodler,
Morbid Angel just headlined a festival put on by a major car company! They may not be on your local modern rock station but its not far off. While I didnt see it myself, word on the street is the latest episode of Bones (which is on FOX) had a metal band in it and a discussion between characters about the band being a death metal band, or a black metal band. The harsh reality is that metal isn't our little secret anymore. "They" found out about it. It is, to a certain degree, mainstream. While I don't anticipate hearing some of the real outer fringe stuff on the radio in the near future, death metal bands, who are playing good music, might just show up after Aerosmith and before Creed on a station near you...

Honestly ive been seeing a pretty sharp upturn in metal's popularity since about '05. I think its just the way things are going now not just with metal but all across the boards. Even the huge pop acts aren't making money like they used too and no one really knows what is cool anymore. there is just more wiggle room these days I think
