Burnout

Is it just me or is everyone sort of burned out on metal right now? Cosmo wrote about his time away from metal, Shelby mentioned some metal burnout, and personally, I haven’t listened to anything expect awesome tapes from Africa in weeks (for lazier bros, feel free to take this shortcut to African awesomeness, as filtered by the hearse).

I don’t know, I guess it makes sense. I think it was Frank Zappa who said volume is exhausting. I feel that way. I also get sick of metal drumming. Anyone else dig that? I know in my band I’m always like, dudes, can we NOT have some drums for a few minutes? I mean, seriously, dooka dacka, dooka dacka, dooka dacka, I’m over it. I put on some Deep Purple the other day after about two weeks of nothing but early Darkthrone and was like waaaaaaaaaah? You can do WHAT with drums? Holy shit, I forgot about that.

How do you guys feel about this? Are you experiencing some burnout right now? Are you going through a German Techno phase or downloading all the Master P records you remember from middle school?

WELL GET OVER IT PUSSIES

bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

That reminds me I need to get my new library card for some more sheet music.

I was working on a music project that was like "metal without drums" but I am too lazy to finish anything I start besides a fifth of whiskey.

Ha. I was totally just reading that article Cosmo wrote the other day, but accidentally lost all interest when he started talking about the six years he spent as a drum & bass DJ. Oops.

Not really. I just don't listen to Darkthrone generally. Xerxes and shit is the stuff I listen to daily, not 'EXTREME METAL FROM HELL'.
